Avalanche™ – white without titanium dioxide
Achieving a bright white colour without using titanium dioxide has always been a challenge. Titanium dioxide is brilliantly white and practically inert, meaning most alternative solutions have always come with a certain compromise, or are only suitable for specific applications.
Now, the laws are changing: Based on the current state of research, the EFSA is reclassifying titanium E 171 and cannot rule out a harmful effect on health. According to reports from SRF, we can assume that the Swiss Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (BLV) will respond by banning it by the end of the year.
