Titanium dioxide – No EU classification as ‘Category 2: Suspected of causing cancer’ for our INEOS Pigments Products

Aerodynamic particle size measurements were successfully completed.

Our partner for TiO₂, INEOS Pigments, has recently published the aerodynamic particle size measurement conducted by an independent laboratory.

The results consistently show that all INEOS Pigments’ grades of titanium dioxide contain <1% of particles with aerodynamic diameter less than or equal to 10 micrometers. Based on this testing and in the absence of further guidance from the EU Commission, INEOS Pigments’ assessment is that all INEOS Pigments’ grades of titanium dioxide do not meet the criteria for classification as a category 2 suspected carcinogen by route of inhalation.

Further information can be found in the attached document.
