Wellness – Emotional body care

wellness

Stress at work, stress at home, even stress in our free time – our very lifestyle today is one of stress and it gives us very little time to relax. School kids, working mothers, top managers – at some time or another, with the demands of modern life, most people find themselves under great pressure. That makes relaxation even more important as a way to offset the daily grind, because continuous pressure is unnatural and harmful.

For our organism to function optimally, we need to strike a balance between the phases of tension and relaxation. The wellness trend is a clear sign that many people have recognized the importance of taking time to recuperate. Many find relaxation in doing something good for themselves: a soothing bath, a relaxing face mask, or a delicately scented body lotion. Using luxurious cosmetic products offers consumers an easy way to recover at home from the stressful routine, to put in some resting time, to pamper themselves, and to relax.

Care products that indulge the senses with a luxurious touch

The cosmetics industry, too, has discovered this emotional side of body care and has recognized that emotional body care products take a stronger foothold when their inner values are visible and perceptible.
Cosmetics producers are aware, for example, of the increasing importance of the sensory properties of care products and, in their new developments, are focusing on ingredients that improve the performance of the products while ideally combining several technical functions and sensory properties.

Consumers immediately notice when a care product has a pleasant touch and good spread, and value these as quality criteria. Many properties of the final formulation can be adjusted using texturizing additives. In addition to improving spread and feel, texturizers can mask a formulation’s richness and tendency towards oiliness, and give it instead a powdery, pleasant finish.

Wellness and visible beauty results

Every age has its own beauty and its own special nature. Some people simply radiate beauty their whole life long, and are very attractive even in old age. These people have also learned to accept the less favourable sides of their personality and their appearance. For the philosopher and social researcher Andreas Giger, the secret to age-independent attractiveness resides in being real, in maintaining a caring attitude towards oneself, and in doing good for oneself.

The wellness trend clearly reflects how many people are giving increasing importance to emotional care. By overcoming stress and achieving deep relaxation through personal care and wellness, many create a deep satisfaction that becomes visible to others as well, in the form of beauty of mind and spirit.

Through additional use of active ingredients, this emotional care can be optimized and thus an all-round beauty can be achieved. Wellness namely means experiencing visible and palpable results even after the care or wellness experience has finished. So, it is no surprise that demand is rising for high-quality products with demonstrable and visible performance.

Smooth, fresh-looking skin comes as a result of targeted care with effective products. Yet, radiant and healthy-looking skin can also be achieved using special effect pigments in care products. Effect pigments improve the skin complexion and conceal minor irregularities such as skin reddening. Furthermore, they lend the formulation itself a silky or matte appearance in a colour determined by the pigment.

Sustainable wellness experiences

If wellness is understood as harmony of body, mind, spirit and environment, then we cannot ignore the subject of sustainability. By using care products with raw ingredients made in environmentally friendly and socially responsible processes, the wellness experience becomes complete. We not only do good for ourselves, but also contribute to the wellbeing of others.

Care concepts that have a wellness character, which pamper the senses and produce visible effects, which unify luxury with sustainability, and which take the emotional side of care into consideration, fit perfectly into the lifestyle of today’s society.
