Filtration/cleaning of swimming pool water
Granulated activated carbon (usually coconut shell activated carbon, which is very abrasion-resistant) is used to remove harmful chloramines and AOX from swimming pool water. For this purpose, activated carbon filters with sizes adapted to the pool volume and partial flow (200 liters to several m3) are used.
Activated carbon granules are also used in multi-layer filters for the same purpose. Powdered activated carbon is also used in diatomaceous earth filtration. Here, a few kilograms of powdered activated carbon are added as a layer to the diatomaceous earth during the swelling process.
Activated carbon is also used for residual ozone destruction in swimming pool water. Various types of activated carbon can be used for this purpose.
In the case of residual ozone destruction in the gas phase (e.g. in indoor swimming pools), various types of shaped activated carbon have proven to be particularly effective. The choice of the right shaped carbon is particularly important here, as the strong oxidative effect of ozone could cause the activated carbon to ignite.

Clean water – It is simply a good feeling to swim in perfectly hygienic water.
From drinking water to personal hygiene and from industry to wastewater treatment.
With targeted measures, the unavoidable formation of chlorates can be kept as low as possible.
