The market share of organic food in Switzerland is growing continuously. 2020 saw a turnover of 3.8 bn Swiss Francs (2019: 3.2 bn) and, with it, an increase in the share of organic products in the entire food industry from 10.3% to 10.8%. 
 

Organic remains the trend

Interest in organic products will continue to grow steadily in the Swiss consumer landscape. Experts anticipate the demand will grow further not only for popular organic products such as eggs, bread, and vegetables but also for more ready-made products and plant-based alternative products. 

For ready-made products to be claimed as organic, they have to meet various strict requirements. Among other things, at least 95% of their ingredients must be of organic origin, which can be a challenge depending on the ingredient. 

 

Organic coloring foodstuff

This gentle processing protects the high quality pigments as they are being concentrated so that they ultimately shine in bright colours. The certified organic colouring foodstuffs also possess excellent stability and colour efficiency, which allows them to be used in many different applications. 

The product range includes concentrates from beetroot, Aronia, and carrots, as well as mixtures of colourings that are suitable for developing plant-based meat alternatives.

The organic colouring foodstuffs are ideal for use in dairy and dairy-alternative products as well as drinks and baked goods.
