Tailored fillers for CASE and plastics manufacture

Hoffmann Mineral is globally known for its functional fillers based on Neuburg Siliceous Earth. Their deep knowledge has now been used in the development of new functional fillers called “Tailored Filler Solutions”. This new series is based on materials that are already used in various established fillers. The materials obtain their functionality, and thus their added value, from innovative surface modifications. Thus, these four innovations impress for their improved properties and modes of action.

Below, we give you a brief overview of the basis material and the application of the four “Tailored Filler Solutions”:

Gloxil iM16K A

Based on hollow glass microspheres from the company 3M. Suitable for plastics in which weight reduction is an important factor.

Gloxil SF 91 A

A hybrid filler consisting of fibres and Neuburg Siliceous Earth. Suitable for plastics in which a good combination of rigidity and flexibility is required.

Gloxil WW SL

Aqueous dispersion based on modified Siliceous Earth. Suitable for matte, water-based paints for improving work-in, transparency, and resistance.

Struktosil 45 AM

Modified, fine talc for use in the CASE and plastics segments. Reinforces, in particular, the barrier effect in elastomers.
