Every day, every one of us is somehow dependent on a road, whether we notice it or not. This could be driving to work, buying necessities that have been delivered by truck, using public transport, or being otherwise affected by one of any number of events.

We are putting roads under increasing use and stress, while at the same time we are raising our expectations when it comes to high quality, long-lasting and above all safe asphalt road surfaces.

With the TOPCEL®technical cellulose fibres from CFF GmbH & Co. KG, we supply a sustainable and upcycled raw material that perfectly meets these high expectations for a high-quality road surface.

Aim

By using TOPCEL® fibre products, we guarantee that asphalt-mixing factories will be able to produce road surfaces that are not only resistant to rutting, wear, and deformation, but also ensure the highest possible degree of road safety and durability.

Function

TOPCEL® is used for all types of asphalt with high binder content. It prevents the binder from separating from minerals in the asphalt.
It also prevents segregation effects during transport and while laying the mix.

Application

Cellulose fibres are formed into pellets designed specifically for use in asphalt road construction and are free of bituminous or modifying additives. Accordingly, TOPCEL® can be worked in as a binder carrier for all fibre-bound asphalts.

Thanks to the pellet form, the fibres can be added to the mixing process by automatic dosing system. Manual addition can also be done. The shear forces of the minerals effortlessly defibrate the pellets in the asphalt mixing system.

Depending on the mixing plant technology and the aggregate fractions used, a dry premixing time of 5 - 15 seconds is sufficient to achieve a homogeneous mix.

TOPCEL® fibre products are available in small packs, big bags or bulk silo delivery.

Advantages

Using TOPCEL® achieves the following advantages:

  • Excellent disintegration of the pellets in the mixing process
  • Homogeneous distribution of the fibres in the mix
  • Pourability and stable conveyability for automatic dosing
  • Safe and non-clogging silo storage

Summary

With the TOPCEL® fibre products, we offer an economically attractive, sustainable and easy-to-use solution that helps to produce high quality road surfaces.
